Attention Parents! This message is to alert you that Northern Kentucky Health Department has reported over a hundred documented incidents of Pertussis, also known as whooping cough, in the last several weeks, spanning all counties. The early, cold-like symptoms of Pertussis progress to a persistent cough that won't go away and worsens with time. As you know, Grow in Grace Preschool requires all students to be fully up to date on their vaccinations prior to enrollment, including the Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis (DTaP) vaccine. However, according to the Heath Department, individuals can still contract a lesser form of the infection even if vaccinated. Pertussis is particularly dangerous to infants, the elderly, and persons with chronic illness. If your child has a cough, even if it is a mild one, please keep them at home and take them to your pediatrician immediately. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students and their families healthy!

This is a well-detailed message to parents. I would suggest getting rid of the second sentence. It might have the wrong effect on parents. They could be alarmed and flood your office with phone calls.
